Rompers are the best fashion pieces to go for for any outing considering the fact that it has the look of a dress combined with the ease of a pair of shorts. Hence, undoubtedly it is an extremely comfortable option to wear to an outing. I am personally inclined towards rompers and play-suits for a number of reasons like comfort, style and ease of shorts. There could be occasions involving active outdoor activities and you would want to look dressy- that's when a romper would come handy. 'Cause you know, a romper is much more comfortable and practical than a dress or a one piece. Right?

One of the the classic monochrome outfits is the chic white on white look. It looks clean, crisp and confident. Also, its perfect for the season! It's time to ditch the black hues for a change and go for an all white look with an add on of fresh summer prints. Not only will it make your outfit look classic, but it will also make it look clean and confident and those summer prints are definitely going to add an ultimate edge to your entire look. You can also go for an entire white on white look if that's the way you would like it. It's all about the permutations and combinations..

Well, I opted for white on white look where I chose to wear a pair of white palazzo with a white crop top. But just to add a hint of the 'summery' vibe to my outfit, I added this white sleeveless printed gilet which has these long side slits that I absolutely love! The gilet that I'm wearing is from W for Woman and you can shop for it here. Since silver jewelry complements white hues really well, I accessorized my look with some silver rings and a floral pink watch from Trinket Square.

Impromptu plans with friends are indeed the best plans, be it a shopping date or a casual drink date! Meenu and I decided to catch up over a few drinks and so today, I am going to take you through our respective ideas and sense of styling an outfit for a casual daytime meet up or a drink date with your buddy. Meenu and I, both of us, have a distinct sense of style and our love for fashion and styling has got us together for some fun time. While Meenu decided to go for a dressy look (Oh, she looks so gorgeous!), I opted for a casual denim and tee kinda look.

Though both us have a distinct sense of styling, here are a few things which are important and essential to the both of us when it comes to whatever outfit we are wearing-

• Most importantly, the outfit needs to be comfortable. If you're not comfortable and confident about what you're wearing, it will only make you feel uneasy and awkward for the rest of the time. 
• Hence, our motto is 'Always be comfortable and kill it with confidence'. 
• Your outfit should be appropriate for the occasion and the place of meet. For example, if you're going to a cafe place you can go quirky and casual. But if it's a fine restaurant kind of a place, then you might want to dress up a little semi-formal and classy. 
• It is, therefore, important to make sure that your outfit complements the theme and the feel of the place you are meeting at.
• On a sunny day, it is absolutely essential for the both of us to carry a pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses are my favorite accessory! 
• You don't need to show too much skin! It shouldn't shout out loud that you are trying too hard. 
• When it comes to accessorizing, which is an important aspect for the both us, we kept it minimal by throwing on a few rings, chain necklaces and cuffs.

Quite recently, I paid a visit to an exhibition called the PULA Bazaar that took place in Pune and luckily I happened to come across this stall that sold lovely Phulkari dupattas and suits. Phulkari is an old embroidery technique originally from Punjab which is done on floss silk thread on coarse handwoven cotton fabric. It literally means 'flower work', as the names suggests. The intricate details of the Phulkari art will leave you amazed. So yes, I was completely amazed by the options I had in front of me and after a lot of confusion as to what to buy, I finally decided to go with this vibrant orange Phulkari dupatta.

The name of the brand from where I purchased the dupatta is called 'The Phulkari' and they deal with a variety of Phulkari embroidered suits, sarees, dupattas, stoles and jackets. They also have a boutique in Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, Pune and if you have a fad for Phulkari, you must check out their collection! So, having picked up this vibrant and lively orange Phulkari dupatta, I wore it on a pretty much plain white salwar and churidaar so as to not steal the limelight from the dupatta. And of course, 'mojaris' (handcrafted footwear) and some silver jewelry were essentially needed to complete the look! The 'mojaris' that I am wearing was another smart pick at another exhibition called the Za Palooza in Pune. Exhibitions and flea markets are my favorite places to shop because that is where you get to pick up some really nice and unique handcrafted, handwoven items from different parts of the country. Also, with the growing popularity of Phulkari, the art has now slipped into western countries as well. Amazing, right?

Dressing the right way for the sweater weather!

• You can go for basics like a pair of denims / trousers with a warm top layered with a jacket and a scarf.
• You can add a long cardigan and layer it with a warm chunky scarf.
• You don't need to keep away your summer dresses just because its getting cooler; you can style them with tights or leggings and add a sweater or a jacket on it and trust me, you'll be warm enough.
• In order to add an edge and comfort to your dressing, you need to have a few winters essentials in your wardrobe such as scarves, cardigans, sweaters, jackets, blazers, thick socks and boots.
• If you don't want to wear tights or leggings, you can also opt for thigh high socks and boots. Oh yes, it'd look bomb!
• You can wear a sweater over your dress and pop its collar out.
• Lace up boots are my fave!

Things you would need to carry:

1. Sunglasses: A pair of sunnies is a must since you will start during the day and of course, it’s the perfect accessory to fight the sun.
2. Sunscreen: You might want to carry your sunscreen with you to protect your skin from the winter sun.
3. Hats: Hats will add an instant magic to your outfit. It will also protect your face, hair and makeup from the sun and will protect your face from sweating.
4. Hand bag/ Sling bag: Even if you feel that you don’t need a bag, trust me, you will need a sling bag or something to carry your phone, money, sunglasses and such other stuff.

Things you should not wear:

1. Short skirts or dresses: Make sure you don’t wear a short skirt, or a short dress or a body-con because it will only make you uncomfortable, especially if you have to sit down cross legged or so. Basically, you don’t want to wear something too short.
2. Heels or stilettos: Comfortable footwear is very important and heels and stilettos are something which you just don’t want to wear to a music fest. Don’t forget there will be a lot of dancing and jumping around!

Cape Trends to be followed this season

Some dos and dont's for the cape trend:

• Go for capes in neutral shades like brown, grey, black, white, cream, etc. to maximize versatility.
• Avoid too much of prints, especially broad or bold prints as that could make your body look larger than it actually is.
• For a slimming effect, have the cape unbuttoned.
• To bring out the shape of the cape, go for slim fitted pants. Avoid bell bottom pants or cigarette pants.
• BOOTS! Boots will add an instant edge to the look. Go for boots, suede or leather, ankle or knee length, however you like.
• Accessorize with long chains or layered chain necklaces.
• Avoid the costumey look.
