It's the festival of lights, joy and happiness and I couldn't be any happier to be spending an amazing time with my family and friends. The best part about this festival is the vibe and that happiness it emits. The preparation and making of Diwali sweets and faral, the trips to the mall with family for some shopping time (you know that joy of buying new clothes on Diwali), lighting our homes with diyas and akash kandil, the chatter of family, friends and relatives over Diwali dinners, don't you think these are the highlights of this festival? Another favourite of mine that I obviously enjoy is dressing up ethnic. You guys probably know I love Indian outfits and ethnic dresses especially in vibrant hues. Last year Diwali, I went elaborate and draped a saree and accessorized with heavy jewellery. But unlike last year, this year I'm pulling off more of a minimal yet elegant look and styling it with some amazing jewellery picks of mine lately.

You cannot be more than happy when you find friends who share a common interest as you do. I have known these two gorgeous ladies since quite some time now, and I have to say that they are truly an inspiration for a lot of young girls and ladies today. Their passion for fashion, their dedication toward their job, their love for what they do is all so commendable. These two are "Girl Bosses" in the actual sense, for the fact that they have created and built their own identity by so much hard-work and not fallen prey to the fear of being judged by the world. They are fearless, they are smart, and they have an ultimate sense of style of their own.

Presenting, Priyanka Shinde from Petals Of Beauty and Meenu Goel from She's A Sixteen. Maybe a lot of you don't know, but I have known Meenu since school. It was our love for fashion and jewelry that got us talking and made us great buddies! Meenu's blog chronicles her take on wearable and affordable plus size, curvy styles. She states that she was made to believe that style and fashion were not her things, but she proved them wrong. She has experimented, developed and evolved her own personal style. She's broken all the stereotypes and I absolutely adore and respect her for that. She is a diva!

Talking about divas, meet Priyanka from Petals Of Beauty. I remember the first time I met this girl; It was so easy to talk to her. Like, we just clicked and I am glad we are amazing friends. She's like the first person I consult or talk to when I am swamped by fashion queries. Priyanka's blog chronicles her take on fashion, style and the latest trends and everything else related to lifestyle. She definitely has a neat and sophisticated dressing sense which I love. And oh, she is a damn good poser!




The three of us love chilling and spending time together as and when we get time from our 'kind of busy' schedules. The fun part is going for shopping together and just exploring the new trends and styles. It is not just this that we talk about all the time. Basically, we connect on every level and can talk about anything and everything. Probably, it's the "Virgo" connection that we share! Talking about the "Virgo" connection, we share a lot of common things, but yet, we are different in our own ways. I would like to mention one attribute or thing about each of them that makes them stand out from the crowd. Meenu strongly believes in being comfortable in your own skin, no matter what. She likes breaking the rules and doing things her own way, and that is what makes her so confident and so successful today. Talking about Priyanka, she is a fearless woman. She is a woman of substance and positive influence, who will never hesitate to share her part of experiences and guide you. These are real great qualities to find in people and I am so happy to have met these gorgeous ladies in the journey of my life.. More power to us girls!

Fusion style of dressing is a game changer for those who like traditional with a twist. It is completely innovative and an unconventional way of dressing, and the best part is that there are no rules involved when it comes to fusion style of dressing. There are times when you want to go ethnic with a twist probably, and yet look stylish in your own way. That is when you can amaze everyone with your fusion sense of style and dressing. The elements involved in this kind of styling should complement each other, and not strikingly contrast or oppose each other.

The idea of fusion dressing is to experiment with ethnic and traditional prints with modern styles. It's a trend that has been recently catching up. If you are someone who likes sporting bright hues, then get all your bright coloured pants, palazzos, jackets, dupattas out from your wardrobe and get started. Do not worry about giving this a try because experimenting and creating your own sense of style is what fusion is all about.

On a personal note,  I enjoy sporting Indian wear with a modern kick to it. Well, that's probably because I like breaking the rules (at least when it comes to fashion). I am wearing a blue kurta as a top paired with a jacket which has got this beautiful ethnic touch to it; and to give it a twisted touch, I paired it with ripped denims and shoes. This is indeed a fun way of styling and dressing and there is no end or limit to the ideas here. You can be innovative by all means! A twisted touch

As the name suggests, a shirt dress is a shirt that is long enough to be worn as a dress and well, you don't always have to necessarily wear a shirt dress as a dress. You got options. Today, I will be talking about my three favourite and easy-to-go styles to slay a shirt dress. The fun thing about it is that when it comes to wearing a shirt dress, you can totally take it from day to night time; with probably a little modifications. But yes, it's a fashion staple every girl must have in her closet. Shirt dresses are versatile in the actual sense, and they can be easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion and time of the day.

Look 1-  In the first look, I have worn the shirt dress as a regular shirt by tucking it in and pairing it up with a black leggings. You can go for any colour of your choice though, as long as both the outfits do not contradict each other. This look is easy-to-go and comfortable and can be opted by those who are not into bare legs. Simple and chic! 

Look 2- The second look is a modification of the first look. Basically, here, I am wearing the shirt dress as an open button down style with a black top and a pair of black leggings. Again, this style is super comfy and can be opted by those who do not wish to show bare legs. 

Look 3- The third look is the classic of all where I am wearing the shirt dress as a dress itself, with no add-ons! If you want to highlight your waist-line, you can throw on a belt or wear a scarf as a belt. Pair it up with sneakers or shoes and you're good to go!

Being a complete fanatic about make up and lipsticks in particular, I invest quite a lot in lip-shades of almost all colours. For me, the make up counter is pretty overwhelming; and I am sure it's pretty same for most of you girls. While deciding on which lipsticks to invest in, there are a few things that I consider, for example, the shade or the colour, the tone of my skin, the texture, the longevity and so on. My Current Top 5 Lipsticks

1. Colorbar Peach Soul 020 - This lipstick comes in a light peach shade and it glides onto the lips quite easily because of its creamy texture. This product comes in a large jumbo crayon type pencil so the nib of the lipstick is pretty big, hence, sometimes making the application a little not to easy. But, if you buy it from the official Colorbar store, you will get the lipstick sharpener with it. The shade is nice and attractive and gives a rich creamy shine to your lips. 

2. Shiseido RD 351 - This lipstick from Shiseido comes in a subtle peachy pink shade with a slight shimmer. What I like about this one is that the shade is neither too loud nor too tame and can be perfectly worn to work; and to other occasions as well. It is actually very light and it glides very smoothly on the lips by giving it a moisturizing effect which makes the lips look naturally soft. But I personally feel that it wears off within a few hours which is the only disappointment I experienced with this product. 

3. Revlon Colorburst 210 - I love matte and this product Revlon Colorburst 210 in the shade Unapologetic is an absolute burst of matte! The shade comes in a vibrant shocking pink and well, it's a beautiful shade. Also, it smells way too good! The lipstick comes in a thick crayon like packaging but there is no sharpener required for this one as the crayon pencil is retractable. It is long-lasting and stays in place even in the scorching heat of the sun. It is a moisture rich balm with an easy application that gives a velvety matte look. Gorgeous shade and absolutely perfect for summers! 

4. Bobbi Brown BA5 Rose Brown - This lipstick is one of its kind. It's a classic deep shade in brown which looks absolutely stunning. The packaging is a thick crayon kind pencil which comes along with a sharpener. The texture is slightly thick creamy and sticky which is what makes it last all day. Also, this shade in Rose Brown is suitable for all skin tones and if you're looking for a new shade in Rose Brown, you can definitely give this one a try! The colour stays on the lips all day and it is definitely worth the price. This lipstick does not smear or smudge. It is long lasting and stays quite in place even after a full meal. It is hydrating and moisturizing and gives a smooth finish after application. Bobbi Brown BA5 in Rose Brown is one of my best picks!

5. Clinique 03 Creamy Nude - This lipstick comes in a subtle and nude shade with a creamy texture which has a shine to it. It give a moisturizing effect which does not emphasize on the dryness of the lips (in case the lips are dry). It can be definitely worn to work for the shade is a classic subtle nude. Application is easy and it does stay for a couple of hours. This product is a complete work staple! 

Rompers are the best fashion pieces to go for for any outing considering the fact that it has the look of a dress combined with the ease of a pair of shorts. Hence, undoubtedly it is an extremely comfortable option to wear to an outing. I am personally inclined towards rompers and play-suits for a number of reasons like comfort, style and ease of shorts. There could be occasions involving active outdoor activities and you would want to look dressy- that's when a romper would come handy. 'Cause you know, a romper is much more comfortable and practical than a dress or a one piece. Right?
